Our sympathies to Jerry's family and friends from the Richard Carter family.
Jerry was a very interesting person, we were very glad to have known him, and listened to his humorous stories.
We all knew each other when we worked at WHOI.
Richard was unable to attend, as he is rafting down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon.
Farewell to Jerry, a great person!

On behalf of the David Simoneau family, I would like to express our deepest sympathies to Jerry's family. Jerry and Dad shared many years together at WHOI which resulted in a great frienship. I can just imagine the "sea stories" from all those years.

Dad is unable to communicate due to a stroke but was very saddened when told of Jerry's passing. So again on behalf of dad, rest well my friend, until we meet again.

Jerry will be missed, i have so many great heart felt memories with him. He was my neighbor for about 25 years. I remember when he helped get my cat out of a tree, he lent me anything from his shed, when we lost power many years ago with 3 feet of snow he came knocking at my door with an extension cord and a pwered heater!!!! He always had something funny to say, a wise crack, a gesture LOL! I looked up to him, and he was an amazing person. I am glad that he was in my life and that i had an opportunity to really get to know him. I send my condolences to his family, he was such a great person with a huge heart.

I am sorry I will be unable to attend Jerry's services due to length of trip.
Jerry was my best friend while in the Air Force Air Police from April 1953 until the day we got discharged together, Jan. 15, 1957.
We remained friends from afar and saw each other on numerous occasions and always by phone.
I was fortunate enough to have stayed at his Osterville home on occasions. Here, I found the basis of Jerry's great dry humor and his generosity. He was part of a beautiful family.
There is soo many tales I could tell about our AF days and our living together as roomates for almost two years. It was a joy.
We were actually called Mr and Mrs Cotter by many of our fellow AP's, including the commander because we were together so much.
The moment I remember the most was when we got discharged, we tiook a train together to Osterville and Long island. When we parted in Albany, I still could not believe he was going home to go to sea on a small schooner. I thought he was nuts.
Since then I have met a couple of his shipmates and could see why he put in all those years at sea.
Thank you for letting me put these notes down as I feel sad and proud that I sit here now and shed tears about one of the best men I have ever known. I have been blessed.
