Dear family of Jerry,
Jerry and I met at a singles dance 19 years ago. We were friends ever since. We always had a wonderful time. And fun. He was a kind and caring man and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I don't know what happened but when he didn't return my phone calls, I knew he was dead. I am saddened that I wasn't able to say my good byes to him and express my condolences to his family, although we never met. He was Larger than life. He will be remembered by all.

Thanks Jerr Bear for all your handyman work and coming right over whenever I needed you. Your were always so kind and generous with your time. I have so may wonderful memories. There will never be anyone like you. One is me cutting your hair for about 17 years. Thanks for the laughs with your goofy personality. My only regret is not telling you how much you meant to me. I never thought you would be gone so fast. I will always miss you walking right into my house singing.
My deepest condolence to Debbie, Jerry and your families. He will definitely be an angel fluttering around watching over you. Until I see you again my friend, rest with our heavenly father and Savior. xox

What a shock to hear about Jerry, Lynn & Candice.
Of the three, I only knew Jerry. He was part of my circle of "single friends" back in the late 80's & 90's.
Whenever I went to a "singles" dance or other event, I would many times run into Jerry. It was always a pleasant & fun experience. I had so much fun watching the Mt. Clemens fireworks with him one year. Even though I lived "across town", he always wanted to come by and help me out with house problems and/or repairs. I regret that I did not have an opportunity to see him for about the last 25 years or so. This is a BIG and heartfelt loss to all who knew him. I offer my condolences to all of his family members.
Uncle Jerry, while we do not understand why you and Lynn had to be taken from us so abruptly, we can take comfort in knowing you are not suffering. Rob, me, Angie and Alex miss you tons already. I called you last week to tell you I did a project you kep

Uncle Jerry, while we do not understand why you and Lynn had to be taken from us so abruptly, we can take comfort in knowing you are not suffering. Rob, me, Angie and Alex miss you tons already. I called you last week to tell you I did a project you kept mentioning we needed to get to. I will always cherish the projects we did together, the holidays you made time for us for visits and all the fun joking that came naturally with you being in the room. Blessings for your children as they continue on with a very large gap in their lives. You were a handful Mr. Tortomasi, but one we were all lucky to have in our lives.

Cousin Jerry will be sorely missed. We were about a year apart in age, and grew up together.
The Tortomasi and Aiello families are cousins, and like most Italian families, whenever there was a Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary, or any other excuse to have a party, we had one,
And nearly everybody in both families were there.
So we were fortunate to see each other often as we grew up.
We played "Hide the Stick" and other games at every family picnic and laughed a LOT.
Best times of my life.
I never heard Jerry say a bad word about anybody. Always way more interested in hearing about YOU, then talking about himself. He was that kind of guy.
May your Spirit continue on beyond this life, Cousin Jerry, and wherever you go, save a place there for me.
Love: Jerry Aiello

Every Sunday, Jerome would come up to the band and worship at Immanuel. Each week he would tell us how blessed he was to hear us that day. He will be missed.

Uncle Jerry,
We're still in shock that you have been taken from us so abruptly. You will always hold a special place in my heart. I love how you had a special way to make us laugh and your sense of humor was second to none. I was always amazed how you could light up a party just by walking in the room. Sure, you were a goof sometimes but that was just part of your charm. You will be dearly missed but I look forward to being reunited with you again very soon once my own journey is complete. For now I hope that you will enjoy your time in paradise, flying on the wings of eagles with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We love you always.
Your nephew,
Steve

Jerry and I go back over 40 yrs. He was such a good friend. Whenever I needed anything done around my condo or cottage, Jerry would be the person I would call. He was such a good handyman and such a respected friend.
When he met Lynn, all of our lives changed. They became such a great couple and would have celebrated their 10th anniversary this September. The names Jerry and Lynn became synonymous with each other. They were a very happy couple. She always called him her "boyfriend".
Jerry was a man of innocence. Not that he led such an innocent life but he lived it with innocence. He would never dream of hurting anyone or anything. His interest in everyone was uncanny. He wanted to know all about you and he was sincere in that. He was a history buff and a sports enthusiast. He could walk up to a stranger and within 10 minutes knew everything about that person.
Jerry and Lynn were an integral part of our inner circle of friends. To say they will be dearly missed is an understatement. We had so much fun with them. All of our hearts are broken but will be filled with the best memories that we can conjure up.
Rest in Peace my dear and beloved friend. May you and Lynn walk forever in Heaven for all eternity.

You always were so caring and concerned about Ken, it meant so much to me, you being there for a Ken and attending physical therapy with him! We'll both always love and miss you dear friend! When I do our walks for causes, I'll miss you but know you'll be next to me in spirit! XOXO Janet

Jerome was a kind wonderful man. His Mom Sadie and my Mom Josephine were freinds since childhood.I remember going over to their house and having a wonderful time as kids with my brother Bob . Jerome at 17 years old would come over and help my mom with chores since my dad passed away . His favorite part to clean was the bar in the basement. About 6 years ago he came to my birthday party and still talks about my mom and of course his fun cleaning the bar!!!!! I was fortunate to recently see him and Linda at sugarbush tavern this summer . We remeniced about old times. He was fun lovely man and will be sorely missed

I first met Jerry as a tax preparer. He was always so cheerful when he would come in to get his taxes done. This past summer I got to experience his handyman services. I wanted to remodel my office and he helped me make it a beautiful environment to work. As I sit in my office I will be surrounded by his beauty as a person always. Rest in happiness & love Jerry!

We go back along way you lent me money in1967 so I could get married. Never ask a question, thats the type of guy you were. You were my best man 3 years ago getting married again. You and Lynn were a member of our social group, playing cards, going places together, coming to cottage the list goes on an on. You were a great and caring man, we always had fun when you were around.
My kids and extended family always talked about you. You were always caring about them not you. I will forever miss you Jerry you were one of a kind no one will fill the void by you and Lynn passing. Your Kids and sisters and our group of friends will never be the same. My heart goes out to them. You Lynn and Candice will all be together in heaven waiting for us to join you.
Bye buddy love you

Dearest Cousin Jerome, You have been with us all of our lives, You have been our mentor inspiring us with your great zest for life. You have been so loving and caring and always concerned of how everyone is doing. You have made an enormous impact on every life you touched. You shared life's most valuable asset with all of us, your time, always reaching out with a phone call or a visit. And suddenly you have departed from this life on earth, too soon, but you are now in heaven with your loving companion Lynn. Our hearts are grieving for your loss as You and Lynn leave an empty space in our lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your children and all of your family members. I love you Jerry and I will miss you dearly.

May he rest in peace He was such a loving, high spirited man who was adored by many family and friends. Since I was a little girl I remember him just lighting up the room at grandma Welsing's and all of our family get togethers. Throughout my older teen years he has visited a few restaurants I've worked at and Lynn and him were always a pleasure to serve. This saddens me to be writing this knowing he is not here with us anymore but knowing that they went to heaven together gives a warm feeling. They will be forever missed Prayers to their families and ours as well XO

I lived my childhood five feet from the Tortomasi's. Every member of that family was kind and caring and fun. Jerome always had a smile on his face and I realize now.. always had time for kids younger than himself. He was a good role model for teens in the neighborhood. Just an all around great guy. Just one second of being in the wrong place at the wrong time....heartbreaking.
