FATHER JEROME MICHAEL VEREB

Memories of Father Jerome still regularly come to mind when I reflect about his kind patience especially in the confessional . I was incredibly blessed to know him as well as to have Father Jerome minister to me in my many needs. I am still praying for him daily especially for his intercession for our Church , world and my personal journey. May God and Our Lord Jesus grant Father Jerome Eternal Rest.

Fr Vereb was a most generous man of Spirit. He gave me a second home at Holy Family Monastery that provided me great enrichment as a newly ordained.

Still praying for the soul of Father Jerome Vereb each and everyday. I will always remember his witness as a servant of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Father Jerome was warmest and kindest. He and my mother Shirley now gone also were first cousins. He was well spoken and accessible

I want to use my dad's old car and help my mother do grocery shopping.

It is hard to believe that it is almost a year since the departure of Father Jerome for eternity and his glory in Heaven. I still pray for him and to him each day for repose and intercession. To the Passionist Community and the family of Father Jerome Vereb, it is hard to believe a special man, who was so close to Our Lord Jesus and with so much to offer a world in dire need of spiritual direction, has left us so soon. Father Jerome was kind and understanding to me at a critical time of my life. I will never forget him and always pray for him.

He was so kind, gentle and caring to all. Even though he traveled far and had much success he always remembered his Knoxville neighbors and fellow Canician's. May he rest in peace and may Perpetual Light shine upon him.

His voice brought so many comfort, his soul brought a light to the world we all shared through the grace he has shown throughout his life. We all knew growing up Marty was not an ordinary Canician kid... so much more special than we could have ever imagined as he grew up to be Father Jerome. He will continue to be busy doing the work he dedicated his life to - watching over all of us. I am not sure who was smiling more Marty when he walked into heaven, or God, when He welcomed him in.

Rest in peace, Marty. I'm proud to have known you as a family friend and fellow "Canicean". Thank you for your love and devotion for your lifelong friends, including our beloved Michael. I'm sure those that have passed welcomed you with open arms.

I had the pleasure of meeting Fr. Vereb many years ago when he stayed at St. Luke's Church in Carnegie. He was very personable, humorous, and truly a Holy man. May he rest in Peace.
