Jerrold Julian Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 2, 2025.
Jerrold Michael "Jerry" Julian, 86, passed away on April 9, 2025, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Born on May 1, 1938, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Jerry lived a full and vibrant life marked by service, dedication, humor, and deep love for those around him.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy as a young man, beginning a lifetime of commitment and resilience. After his military service, Jerry worked for many years at M&M Mars in Hackettstown, New Jersey-a career that reflected his strong work ethic and loyalty.

For over five decades, Jerry shared an extraordinary bond with his beloved spouse Janey Julian. Married for 41 years and together for 51, they were true kindred spirits. Their connection was rare and enduring-marked by mutual understanding so deep they could finish each other's sentences. Their love remained strong throughout their lives together and stood as a testament to unwavering devotion.

Jerry had a zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He found joy in golf and hunting, relished poker nights and bingo games, and delighted in playing Mexican Train with friends and family. A fan of lottery tickets-especially winning big-Jerry embraced fun wherever it could be found. Their eclectic tastes included admiration for boxer Roberto Duran, the music of Josh Groban and K-pop artists alike, cheering on Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods on the green, rooting for the Eagles and Phillies on game day, and savoring McGriddles from McDonald's.

Known widely for his sharp wit and infectious humor, Jerry had a gift for storytelling that brought laughter to countless gatherings. He was especially famous among loved ones for creating hilarious memes featuring family members-a modern twist on his lifelong ability to bring joy through laughter.

Jerry is survived by Rae J Reff of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Jack and Ila Gibbs of Hackettstown, New Jersey; niece Nicole Teune and her family of Blaine, Washington; nephew Michael Gibbs and his family of Georgia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews on both sides who loved him dearly.

He was predeceased by his half-brother Jack Cooper of Houston, Texas; brother Jack Julian of Macungie, Pennsylvania; sisters Joyce Updyke, Sylvia Rush, and Lori Smith of New Jersey; parents Jack and Grace Julian of Washington, New Jersey; and in-laws George and Stella Gibbs of Hackettstown, New Jersey.

Jerry's memory will live on through the stories he told so well-and the laughter he inspired so often. May Jerry's memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Uncle Jerry, I owe my love of golf, my fear of snakes, and so many great stories and memories to you. You set the standard in our family for what it means to truly love, marry, and cherish every moment with your soulmate. We miss you every day-your stories, your humor, and the joy you brought to everyone around you. You´re a legend, and I know you´re driving it straight down the fairways up there, Cack.

Jerry, you are the love of my life. You are a good man with the best strong and gentle heart. My life was blessed because you were my loving and supportive partner for 51 years. I don't know how to live on without you but I owe it to my creator to complete the life I was given. As tears flow I will remember all the good times, your humor, laughter, smile and loving embrace. I pray you are at peace in God's light and that you took all our love with you. Rest now my love and I'll see you in the next life!

Uncle Jerry I have so many good memories of you, especially as a child. At all the picnics at Aunt Joyce's picnics. And I will never forget that you came to my mother's funeral. You will be missed!
