Jerry Verlon Babb

Jerry Verlon Babb, 65, of Pleasant Plains died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his home. He was born in Batesville on July 23, 1950 to Jimmie and Dora Mae (Martin) Babb. He was employed by Bryce Corp in Searcy. Jerry loved the outdoors, hunting with his sons, fishing, and just riding around on his mule watching the deer and squirrels. He loved taking his grandchildren through the pasture checking the cows or just going for a ride to the creek to toss in a rock or two. The loves of his life called him PawPaw. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Darlene Babb; sons, James Babb (Sue) of DeQueen and Mason Babb (Karissa) of Pleasant Plains; step-sons, Clay Marsh (Crystal) and Clint Marsh (Kim) of Wilburn; grandchildren, Bailey and Tayler Babb of DeQueen, Eli and Ryley Babb of Pleasant Plains; step-grandchildren, Danielle, Hayley and Paige Marsh of Wilburn; sister, Debbie Wheeler (Grayling) and nephew, Gregg Wheeler of Searcy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Esta Mae and Alfred Martin and Grace and Frank Babb. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at the Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob.
