Jerry Don Bickerdike

Services for Jerry Don Bickerdike, 76, of Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Westwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 25, 2015, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Jerry Bickerdike was born Aug. 12, 1938, to Joyce and Clyde Bickerdike in Tyler. He passed away May 22, 2015, in Tyler.

Jerry was a lifetime resident of Tyler and retired from J.C. Penney as the building superintendent. He was an ordained deacon and an active member of Westwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing 42 dominoes, visiting with family and friends and working at his church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Peggy Bickerdike; his parents; and his brothers, Eugene and Edwin Bickerdike.

Survivors include his wife of almost 14 years, Betty Bickerdike, of Tyler; sons, Steve Bickerdike and wife Jennifer, of Chandler, Glenn Bickerdike and wife Karen, of Marshall; stepdaughters, Lesa Allen and husband Milton, of Whitehouse, Sheli Dennis and husband Robert, of Tyler; grandchildren, Lauren Bickerdike, of Tyler; Chase, Cade and Kendall Bickerdike, of Marshall, Justin Copeland and wife Bethany, of Maud, Bryce Hand, of Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dorman Jennings, Gerry McCrary, Dwight Palmer, Randy Phillips, Harold Ray and Bob Stagner.
