Mr. Jerry F. Campbell

Jerry F. Campbell, 77, of Sulphur, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009, at a Lake Charles Hospital. He was born in DeRidder, reared in New Iberia, and had resided in Sulphur since 1958. He was a member of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Campbell was a graduate of New Iberia High School and held a degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, formerly Southwestern Louisiana Institute. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force, having been stationed at Yakota Air Force Base in Japan as well as several bases in the United States. He was employed for twenty-five years by Cities Service Oil Refinery and retired from Westlake Polymers in 1997.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife Ellen Marie Chapman Campbell; one daughter, Wendy Sue Ptomey and husband Joe of Haslett, TX; three sons, Frank David Campbell and wife Lynn Dee of Sulphur, Michael Niel Campbell and wife Susan of Alpharetta, GA, and Kent Timothy Campbell and wife Kellie of Birmingham, AL; and one sister, Beverly Barrilleaux of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Angela Newhouse and husband Bob, Zachary Cain and wife Mandy, Joseph Ptomey, Faith Ptomey, Nicholas Campbell, Mitchell Sanner and wife Jamilya, Jamie Sanner, Alexis Campbell, Andrea Campbell, Meagan Robillard and husband Scott, Rebecca Seidl, Ethan Campbell, Katie Parrish; and three great grandchildren, James, Michael and Ryan Newhouse.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Louis and Vivian Campbell; his brother Webon J. Campbell; and his infant son Mark Lynn Campbell.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Hixson Memorial Funeral Home on Highway 90 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with interment at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South.
