Jerry Lamar CruseMr. Jerry Lamar Cruse, 50, of Chatsworth departed this life Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at his home.Mr. Cruse was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Whitfield County, son of Bessie Mac Cauley of Fort Oglethorpe and the late Leamon Brackett. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his aunt, who adopted him, Christine Helton.He was raised at the Cherokee Boys Estate and was a member of Rock Bridge Community Church.Along with his mother he is also survived by his loving wife, Vickie Bridges Cruse; daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Tommy Keener of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Amanda Cruse, Christopher and Linda Cruse, Wesley and Michelle Bridges; grandchildren, Chase Keener, Dakota Keener, Emily Cruse, Alyson Cruse, Bailey Coker, Jonathan Cruse, Tyler Bridges, and Laci Bridges; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Kenneth Green, Cathey and Roger Stover, Linda and Tony Robertson, and Teresa Cruse all of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Adline Brackett of Chatsworth, David and Linda Gail Brackett of Dalton, Timmy and Sandra Brackett of Calhoun, Danny Ledford of Fort Oglethorpe, and Dawayne Cruse of Fort Oglethorpe; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Clayton Brown, Jeff Johnson, and David Wakefield officiating.He will be laid to rest at the Murray Memorial Gardens.
