Published by Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal on Feb. 11, 2015.
TUPELO – Jerry Lee ""Julio"" Dew, 66, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit following an extended illness. He was born Feb. 20, 1948, in Marks to Webb and Ora Dew. He married his sweetheart of 39 years, Mary Johnson, on Dec. 24, 1977. He has always been hardworking, employed 15 years in the shipping department for Super Sagless Corp. and 10 years at Vita Foam. During the 1970's he worked at Long's Laundry in front of the Tupelo Fair Grounds. Jerry was a kind, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband to his loving wife, greatly enjoyed his pets, and loved the outdoors. He received pleasure working on vehicles and mowing the grass, even when it didn't need mowing. He had a giving heart, always thinking of others, and was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church in Verona.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. John McAlister officiating. Private burial will follow in Campbelltown Cemetery at Guntown. Visitation will be Thursday from noon to service time only.
