Bubba Goolsby

Bubba Goolsby, 70, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, passed away on April 30, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. Born on February 25, 1954, Bubba was the beloved son of the late Lex Goolsby and Lora Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Burns.

Bubba, known to his loved ones as Jerry, was born disabled and held a special place in the hearts of his parents and seven sisters. Growing up as the only boy among seven girls, he was cherished and protected by his family. Despite being outnumbered, Bubba had a quiet demeanor but could display a temper at times.

In his free time, Bubba enjoyed mowing lawns and indulging in hobbies such as working on model planes and cars. He had a passion for music and sci-fi shows, and he found joy in dismantling and reassembling small engines as a hobby.

Bubba leaves behind his sisters, Fay Whittemore, Thelma Vanarsdall, Shirley Andrade, Patricia Bradshaw, Kathy O'Neal, and Judy Herrington, who will cherish his memory.

With a career marked by his disability, Bubba found solace in his hobbies and the simple pleasures of life. His love for tinkering with engines and building model cars and airplanes brought him immense joy.

Bubba's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
