It doesn't seem like it has been 10 years since Jerry left us. He has never been forgotten. Him and Deanna were good friends. At any time you saw either one of them they always has a big smile on their faces. Miss always seeing him at the GoodGuys Shows. He was taken away too early in life. Love Selby and Jean

Jerry was a good friend always had a smile on his face. It doesn't seem that it was that long ago he passed away. I remember the good times we go to the apt. on top of Kern's Funeral home a play card games. It was always neat to meet Jerry down at the GoodGuys in Puyallup and see his cars. He will always be remembered as a friend and that always smile on his face. Selby and Jean

I knew Jerry for many years, from grade school to high school we fished on the same boat in Alaska in 61 he was the cook and gained 40 pounds.Just this summer I got to see him at a mini class reunion he looked so good, he would have been voted the least changed of the class. He was one of the good guys in this world. Gary (stem) Stemhagen

Dear Mrs. Kaasa and family--I was sad to read Mr. Kaasa's funeral notice posted at Qfc in North Bend. My father passed away in 1981 and Mr. Kaasa handled the arrangements---he was so kind to my mother and family. We ordered the headstone for Memorial Day and went out to the cemetary---and found it had been placed on the wrong grave. Mr. Kaasa felt so bad and promised it would be fixed within the week. My sister took mom out the following week---and whoever was to have moved it didnt---so Mr. Kaasa was trying to dig up the headstone himself to move it---my mom than told him not to worry about it or hurt himself. The headstone was moved in a few days to my dad---and Mr. Kaasa refunded the portion mom had paid---the military had paid a portion. Mom didnt want to take the funds but he insisted. My family and I will never forget his kindness---he also assisted when my grandma passed away---and she was sent to the east coast. May your loss be helped with the wonderful memories that he left. Special thoughts and prayers---Lisa Curtis (Thoren)

Deanna and family,
So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. We had many wonderful times in our younger years.
I think it was the summer of 1961 Jerry spent in South Eastern Alaska fishing with Jerry Hamburg. Jerry was also very helpful in my son, Kirk, being hired at Bonney Watson.
Will not be able to make his service as we are busy here with services and a Veteran's Tribute at Hillcrest Park.
Our thoughts will be with you.

Deanna and Cheryl and families,
Jerry will always remain very special to our family. Always as a teenager, he spent a lot of time in our home eating home made bread or cookies. He was like one of us and Mom and Dad always considered him as one of their own. I believe he felt that way also. He was like another "Big Brother" to us girls. Our heartfelt love and prayers go out to you all during this difficult time. Rita Wright Winbolt and the rest of our family

Hello Deanna and family, We would like to add our condolences to all of your family. We have wonderful memories of street rodding with Jerry. We also have memories of wonderful times with you two when you visited us at our winter home in Yuma. I was looking at the pictures last evening. Jerry was so thoughtful and helpful in setting us up with a new flat screen TV. We will miss him in our lives and we truly believe we will all be together again in a happier place. Thanks for the memories. Our love to all of you, Lyle and Geri

I had the pleasure of working with Jerry for several years. I was one of the Miss Berg's of the Seattle Times, I was Miss Berg, Jr. Jerry called in notices for the familes he served and he was always polite, punctual and humorous. One day, Barbara Christie and I were visiting The Park and someone drove us in one of the family cars out to Federal Way and that's where I first met Jerry. He was so polite to us, showed us around and answered any and all questions. He was a professional in every sense of the word. My most favorite memory of him was one year at the Funeral Directors Christmas Party, held on the lower level of the Space Needle. Our new manager, Olivia, was there and she was a little skittish about being around the directors. She soon found out that they were warm and funny people, sincere and dedicated. I was sitting at a table with Jerry, Barb Christie, Olivia and several others. In the middle of the room, Jack Harvey was holding court with his long overcoat and flowing hair. Someone made a comment and Jerry said "there goes the Pope of Fremont"! We all laughed and from that time on, Jack Harvey was referred to as the Pope of Fremont (with much affection) and even today that name still sticks. Jerry gets the credit for naming him.
to his family and co workers - my prayers and thoughts go out to you in your time of loss. I hope Jerry is making people smile wherever he is right now and maybe even chuckling a little bit at my story.
Linda Franco (formerly Frangello, and proudly, Miss Berg, Jr.)

To the Kassa Family,
As we are left in shock at the sudden passing of Jerry, it is the loving memory of a wonderful person that will be indelible in all the lives Jerry touched. Jerry will be greatly missed...his warm smile, calm demeanor and willingness to talk with you at great length, earnestly and thoughtfully, will be truly missed. Jerry was always fun to share life with… He led a positive life that God blessed with a wonderful family; his life is enduringly reflected in his children and will positively affect generations to come. As this is a time of weeping, there is a celebration of joy to come. We celebrate Jerry's life and we will see him again…may grace and mercy abound in your family during this very difficult time. Please accept my deepest condolences.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit... Psalm 34:18
I will turn their mourning into joy and will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow. Jeremiah 31:13
…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

To Jerry's Family -
Your husband and dad was a very kind a gentle man. He served many families here in the Snoqualmie Valley with respect, dignity, gentleness and a wonderful listening ear. He cared about those he helped through what is the most difficult time in many peoples lives. May the gifts he gave to others be bountiful now upon your family as you mourn and celebrate Jerry's life. You are in our prayers and may the power, love and grace of God be felt with you now. In His Love and Peace ~
