my husband, retired LTC Sam Sanford and I were close friends during military life wih both Jean Lollar and Jerry Lollar and adored Bo - took him camping with Bret Rosentahl and our children at White Lake and Lake Tillery in the NC Mountains.
We were stationed with them both at Fort Benning, Ga. and also Fort Bragg, NC.
Bo's father and my husband were OCS classmates. They will be remembered in our hearts forever.

Shannon & Kyle - my heart is so sad with the news of your Dad's passing. Your Mom & I we're close when we worked together at Oak Grove then Redland Oaks. We were friends when your parents got engaged & then married. Their wedding was beautiful & they were so fun to be around. Your mom & I had so many conversations about marriage & family & how much she wanted children. I held her close when her Dad died & she confided in me about so many things in her life. I loaned her my daughter's christening gown for you Shannon when you were baptized. We lost touch after Kyle was born because I left Redland Oaks. Our paths crossed again when Kyle was at Tejeda MS where I was the Principal's Secretary. The last time I saw you all was in the hospital with your mom. I visited with your dad twice when he worked at Home Depot & he filled me in on how you & Kyle were doing. He was so proud of you both. Only God knows why we are put to the test in our lives & you both have been through so much loss from such an early age. I wish I had some magic words to sooth your souls but I also know that peace has to come from within. I do know that you were blessed with parents who loved you more than anything else in the world. Never forget or doubt that. Godspeed to both. Y'all will always be in my prayers. ❤ Marsha Stiles

Jerry "Bo" Lollar,

Thank you for the short time we had together. You are an incredible man, father and friend.

I will always remember your laughter, how your eyes lit up when you got a call or text from one of your kids or when I walked in the room.

I thought they broke the mold when they made me but you surpassed me in every way

Thank you for some great memories and I hope Ailene is up there with you.

Will never forget your infectious laughter and some not so funny jokes

Go rest high now on that mountain.

I miss you Bo

Its my honor to say I worked with Jerry and saw his life and work ethic that he lived out before us each day. But even more so when I asked him to play on our softball team he was always there, ready to practice, play or coach! Thats how I knew Jerry. He worked the same way, as he played ball! All out! Whatever was needed, for the team or work, he was ready, willing and able! And most important, for his family! Glad share to share those beers, after practice, and after winning that tournament together! You're home now with your loved ones! Miss ya man!
