During the late sixties and early seventies my friends and I formed a garage band, aspiring to hopefully become rock artists ourselves. Jerry Miller was one of the guiding stars that we navigated our dreams by. I remember seeing the Jerry Miller Band at Keystone Corner in San Francisco a few times and I´m sure that my friends saw Moby Grape many times. The times in San Francisco were such a renaissance back then.
Jerry Miller may have passed on, but his inspiration will live on, for sure!

Coming over to see Him and Jo, was always a happy greeting by both persons. They were always open arms to hugs when greeting. It was always a warm and fuzzy Love in the Millers Home. Jo and Jerry always had Love to share with their friends. I will miss him cooking 3 eggs and ham steak for breakfast. He enjoyed flipping the 3 eggs up in the air, after Jo bought him a cool blue pan. It was peaceful to see him play his guitar while, Jo danced like a feather to his music. Jerry was smiling always. Miss you. Love you and Jo. Peace be with you now.

Jerry was a guitarist's guitarist. A humble man, generous to the many aspiring musicians who frequented his jams at Uncle Sam's in Tacoma. He was a hero to many of us local musicians. He paid me the most beautiful compliment once. He was listening to me playing acoustic, and he said "You make me want to play better." Then we jammed on "Linda Lou", and he showed all he was a King. Love and comfort to all who mourn his passing. KT

Jerry was a friend of mine. I would go see him play ever time I got the chance, so a few hundred times over the years. He was the a most friendly person, one that was always ready to sit down and have a conversation between sets and talk about the old day. The people he met on his endeavors of being a musician and the stories were great to hear. HIs Gibson that he played, (older than me it is) he let me use it and I have pictures with it. What a great person he was in life and now his legacy will carry on. What we can learn from such a great person as Jerry was is be humble and carry on. William Mercier

He grew up with my ex husband, Kent Howard, I found him on utube, playing at a local haunt, The Spar, at the end of the song, he called out my ex, Kent, who was watching him in a wheelchair, had cancer, about being a Tacoma boy, etc., and Kent responded back, "What's up, my man!, and a few other quick retorts, we both lived music, Kent passed that July, glad I was with him there to see Jerry, what an awesome musician, coming from the 60's, what a great thing I can watch him on utube, didn't really realize how many greats, like Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, respected him, he was a person to learn from, roll with the punches, and keep smiling he played at our wedding reception at the Organ Society next door to the Spar, i think, with the Whalers, my daughter Rosalee found some photos of it, i was pregnant with her, and there's one of him, i remember his thick green cords, God bless him, his legacy will live on.
