Jerry Leon Sowell

Jerry Leon Sowell 83 of Clovis, CA, went to be with God on Friday (March 15, 2024) following a courageous battle with COPD and Emphysema.

Born on December 15, 1940, in Safford, Arizona, Jerry was the son of Al and Roxie Sowell. Jerry grew up in Vacaville, California. He worked hard his whole life and owned his first business in Porterville CA and several businesses over the years with his most recent as owner/operator hauling cars all over the West Coast.

Surviving are his Brother Robert Sowell (Alita) of Orangevale, CA, his Brother in Law Raymond Altamirano (Shirley deceased), his son Scotty Leon Sowell of Bonita Springs Florida, his son Deryl Sowell of Vacaville California, his daughter Trina Harvey of Naples Florida, his daughter Lisa Sowell (Chere) of Portland Oregon, his daughter Twyla Dent (Marvin deceased) of Lineville Alabama, his daughter Renee Fernandez of Mesa Arizona, his daughter Athena Mulholland (Jim) of Clovis California and his son Jerry Leon Sowell Jr. of Rogers Arkansas. In addition, Jerry had 17 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews of all that he loved dearly.

With his whole heart he loved and was proud of his family. He had a passion for telling stories, was a collector of old coins & memorabilia and loved boxing "The Fights" and definitely fought COPD until the end, beating Hospice for almost 2 years. A Special Thanks to the staff at Saint Agnes Hospital in Fresno, CA for their heartfelt care and time they spent with Jerry.
