Jesse Solomon

Jesse Solomon (Eshai Shlemon), age 91, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, surrounded by his devoted children, grandchildren, and family. A cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jesse lived a life marked by deep faith, unwavering love for his family, and a legacy of kindness that touched all who knew him.

Born on September 20, 1933, in Kiev, Russia (then part of the Soviet Union), Jesse was the son of Arkheam Shlemon and Shappy Elisha. He grew up alongside his siblings-Awia, Absalom, Elisha, Sarah, Ashur, and Lusitania-forming bonds that would shape his enduring commitment to family throughout his life.

In 1958, Jesse married the love of his life, Soriya DeKelaita Shlemon. Together they built a home filled with warmth and devotion in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. Together they raised three children: David; Sargon; and Susan. Jesse took immense pride in their accomplishments and found great joy in watching them grow into adulthood. His role as a grandfather brought him even more happiness as he lovingly embraced Heather, Justin, Jennifer, and Megan into his heart.

Professionally, Jesse dedicated himself to international commerce as an Import/Export Agent. His work connected people across borders and cultures-a fitting reflection of his open-hearted nature and global perspective.

A man of deep faith and community spirit, Jesse was a long-time parishioner and church committee member at St. Eprem's Assyrian Church in Chicago. His involvement reflected not only his religious devotion but also his desire to serve others with humility and grace.

Jesse will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, generosity, and compassion-qualities that defined every aspect of his life. Whether offering guidance to his children or sharing stories with friends over tea after church services, he left an indelible mark on those around him.

He is survived by his children David; Sargon (Lisa); Susan; grandchildren Heather (Jesse), Justin, Jennifer, and Megan; great-grandchild Apollo; and sister Lusitania. He now joins in eternal rest with his beloved wife Soriya; parents Arkheam Shlemon and Shappy Elisha; brothers Awia, Absalom, Elisha, Ashur; and sister Sarah.
