I met Jesse when he was playing at the Wha Cafe in the Village. He loved Billy Graham and wanted to be a doctor to help his people but he was meant to be a musician. His Peace Song was a beacon of light to our generation. I wasn´t "smug" just shy and Jesse´s encouragement to go back to Ohio was exactly what I needed. My home state of New York would have "eaten me alive." You loved Jesus and you finally made it. You were a worthy servant. See you when I get to Heaven. Paula

Jessie's sweet voice and soulful songwriting were a defining key of that most hopeful and idealistic era, the 1960s; a message he carried throughout a long career. Vale Youngblood!

So glad Perry Miller made it in the music world! I grew up a few doors down from him in Yardley ,Pa. Still remember him going in and out of his driveway on his motorcycle !!

Fond Memories from Avenue B, and from my first motorcycle that Perry arranged for me to buy with my tuition money. Trips with PR motorcycle clubs, hero sandwiches from Ukrainian delis, lots of late night chats ... good times.

I am so heartbroken to hear this news. I just heard a new cover of his song Darkness Darkness and recently played some of his music from my vinyl collection. Another kind soul has been taken home and is playing in heaven´s band. Fly high to the sky with the eagles and the doves and rest in peace high upon the mountain until that final day. You are missed Jesse Colin Young and so needed by this broken world.
