Jesse Zavala III Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 9, 2024.
Jesse Zavala III, born and raised in the southside of San Antonio. He attended McCollum High School where he was part of the band for 4 years. His passion was the drums and guitar. He loved learning new riffs and creating music. Drawing was another way he loved to express himself, and when we wanted to explore nature, he would grab a rod and head to espada park just like when we were little.

Jesse was known for his converse shoes and funny personality. He was always joking to make someone laugh. His favorite things were bagel bites and lemon-head candy. He wanted to travel more. He dreamed of going back to New York to revisit the famous stairs from one of his favorite movies, "Joker."

Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Norma Zavala. He is survived by his Mother and Father Cyndie & Israel Oviedo. Father and Stepmother Jesus Zavala & Crystal Zavala. Grandfather Jesus Zavala. Brothers: Christopher Oviedo, Angel Zavala, Aiden Zavala, Abraham Zavala. Sisters: Celeste Oviedo, Miranda Oviedo, Abbigail Oviedo, Natalie Oviedo and Aliza Zavala. Aunt Beatrice Zavala, Uncle Robert Aguilar, Cousins: Ovie Oviedo, Stephanie Perez, Leesa Perez, Samantha Perez, Emilio Perez Jr, Elijah Martinez Jr, Vanellope Martinez and his two cats that he cherished so much: Biscuit and Honey buns.

Jesse will be dearly missed by many. This is not goodbye; this is until we meet again. He wanted everyone to know that he kept us all in his heart.

Jesse was born my cousin but became my brother. He lived with us for 17 years and was always with us in the 6 years before that. Him and I were the band nerds of our family always saying we miss playing "The horse" or saying drums are better than the clarinet. When he visited New York he had dreams of going back and when I went to Paris he told me all the places he wished he could go there. Now I´ll have to make the trip to honor his memory and legacy. Jesse was so loved by many and will be deeply missed for the rest of our lives. Our family will forever be incomplete but we know he is living his eternal life with our grandmother Norma.
