Jessica passed away on June 21st, 2019, the first day of Summer.
She had a wonderful, cheerful personality and was so very full of life around everyone she came across. Her infectious laugh could light up a room.
Jessica loved her family with her whole heart. Her nephew and new niece were her world and becoming an Aunt was one of her greatest joys. She always tried to find the best ways to make them smile - Bubbles and rocket ships were the latest.
Jessica is survived by her kitty Opal, parents Pat and Bruce, brother Nathan his wife Penny, her two favorite people in the world nephew Bauer (3), and niece Adler (15 weeks). Grandma Donna Herbert, Uncle Bill and Aunt Sue Herbert, and Aunt Frela and Uncle George Beck. Cousins Jennifer, Jaime, Julie, Jackie, Amy and Emil.
Jessica had many hobbies, and her most favorite was playing cards - especially winning which she learned from her Great Grandma Day.
She loved everyone she met and everyone she met loved her back - "True Story"

I will remember all the good things Jess has brought to our family. Jess was our boys favorite babysitter because she was fun and creative. I always remember her smilie in all of our family outings. I pray that she is at peace now in Gods hands.

Jess, you were such a loving and gentle soul that was quick to laughter and would show up when a friend was in need. Our friendship started in CNA classes ('08?) when we would try to study together but the giggles would always distract us until we'd end up playing Cribbage instead. I'm so grateful our paths crossed and you were willing to befriend Colorado Jen. You were willing to let me cook you a vegetarian meal once. Once. You said the vegetable protein "meat" tasted like tire tread and we laughed until we cried. My heart goes out to family and loved ones. You will be missed dearly.

Thank you for your light, laughter, love, opening your soul and sharing your deepest thoughts. I thank God for every moment we had Jess. Your candle burned out long before your legend ever did. I am so sorry that Bauer and Adler never got the chance to know just how TRULY special you were. I will miss your light, compassion, love, laughter, sensitivity, deep talks, beautiful smile, and your hugs. Until we meet again....always in my heart.

I first met Jessica and her family when she was a girl. Over the years, she always had a smile for me and my family, no matter what was going on in her life. While I haven't seen her in years, the news of her passing fills me with a sense of loss. But I am so happy to read about the joy she experienced with the arrival of her niece and nephew and the great love she showed them. That is the Jessica I will remember. Even in passing, she has made me smile.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Some things in life are never easy.
They are actually very tough and i think
Jesus would agree.
I remember very clearly the last time I
talked to Jessica a couple weeks ago.
I will keep that moment in my heart
and pray over it.

My memories of Jessica are happy and precious. As a little girl she had her trademark infectious smile, mischievous twinkle in her eyes, and a colorful personality. I always looked forward to her visits to Cherokee to visit Uncle George, Aunt
Frela, Cousin Emil and myself. My greatest regret is that I, just through living life, had lost contact with her.
I am sorry Jessica that I did not get to spend more time with you. As the Cherokee believe, death is viewed as "walking on" into a new journey where you will join your ancestors. I am comforted that you will be with your grandparents Joyce and Clifford. When I see the stars sparkle overhead, I will see your twinkling mischievous/ joyous eyes. When I see a rainbow, I will know you are able to be your true and beautiful self. When I hear rain I will know that your pain is now washed away. Walk on in peace Jessica knowing that you will be missed and loved. Your Cherokee cousin, Amy Beck Thompson.
P.S. Every evening since your passing, an owl has been at our house in the evening making quite a commotion. According to tradition, owls are respected because they are able to stay awake protecting Earth at night. Is that you Jessica? Lord knows, we all need a protective spirit.

Jessica....I never got the honor of meeting you in person. Whatever pain you were going through is now over, and I hope you are at peace in Heaven and watching over us. May you find peace with the Lord and he keep you safe and in comfort for eternity, and bring peace to your family and friends. I know what a big part of Nicolas Sellers life you were and what you meant to him. I know you will surely be missed by him and your other loved ones. Rest easy now....and come "visit" us when you get bored up there in Heaven ❤❤
