Jessica Sykes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 9 to Nov. 11, 2022.
Jessica Sue Sykes, 36, had her life tragically and unexpectedly cut short on October 31, 2022. Born the youngest daughter to Brett Hinkle and Deborah Sykes on March 27, 1986, Jessica was fearless and adventurous, with a tough exterior that housed a sensitive soul.

Jessica was a free spirit who lived life on her own terms and never met a limit she wasn't tempted to test. All who knew Jessica will miss her generosity - no matter how little she had, she was always willing to share with her large tribe of friends and family. She was fiercely protective of and loyal to her own, and was the first to show up to defend those lucky enough to be considered "her people." The world will be dimmer without Jessica's beautiful smile and wicked sense of humor.

Jessica is survived by her father Brett Hinkle (Rhonda Cloud), step-father John Adams, children Dylan, Dominick, and Lilly, sister Melinda (Derek) Haggerty, brothers Wesley Hinkle and Kyle Hinkle (Shyla Peterman), step-sisters Hilary Hanes and Stephanie Funk, step-brother Larry Nutt, uncles Joshua Sykes and James Sykes, aunt and namesake Candi Sue Sykes, numerous beloved cousins, and many friends that she met over the years that she undoubtedly counted as family. Jessica is preceded in death by her mother Deborah Sykes, grandparents James and Carol Sykes and Donald and Gretta Hinkle, aunts Cindi Sykes and Brenda Sykes, uncles John Sykes, Terry Hinkle, and Emory Hinkle.

Jessica will be laid to rest on November 18, 2022 with her mother at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at 5600 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43213. Friends and family are welcome to share memories of Jessica at a service at the Forest Lawn Chapel from 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. with burial immediately following.
