Earl Canipe CONOVER Earl Canipe, 63, of Conover passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Brian Center East in Hickory. Born Dec. 29, 1948, in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Canipe and Daisy Canipe Hefner. Earl was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Hickory. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Hefner Canipe. Survivors include his mother, Daisy Swink Canipe Hefner, of Taylorsville; daughter, Heather Canipe, of South Carolina; five sisters, Sarah Houston, Maggie Smith and Nancy Sigmon, all of Conover, Roselee Short, of Belwood, and Elizabeth Walker, of Conover; and four brothers, twin brother, Burl Canipe, of Catawba, Howard Canipe and Sherman Canipe, both of Conover, and James Canipe, of Lincolnton. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton with Pastor Eugene Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawndale. The family will receive friends today (Wednesday, Aug. 15) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton.
