BLACK, Jessie Wallace (nee Smith) February 12, 1907 - July 27, 2002 Slept away peacefully in the dining room, at the Arnprior Hospital at noon having a good morning chatting with her daughter Sandy at breakfast and visiting with other patients and staff. Jessie was born in Cowden Beath Fifeshire Scotland, February 7, 1907 and landed in Canada July 1, 1910 to the 3 year olds great delight of waving flags and marching bands. What a wonderful friendly country. Jessie was the cherished wife of the late George Halliday Black and very dear mother of two daughters, Joan Elizabeth (deceased) (John Edwin "Ted") Sievenpiper of Toronto and Sandra Lynne Black of Arnprior. Dear sister of Robert M. (Chris) Smith of Kelowna, B.C. and James (the late Mary) Smith of Toronto (predeceased). Sister-in-law of Rose Black of New Zealand. Dear cousin of Amy McEwan of Fenelon Falls, Nancy (Dennis) Dice of Toronto and Bob (Chris) McEwan of Lindsay also Douglas McEwan. Cherished Aunt of Susan (Chris) Snow of Toronto and Shirley Kylie of U.S.A. Cherished Great-Aunt of Danny (Carol) Fife, Darren (Shelley) Fife and David Fife all of Waterloo and also Jamie Kylie of England. Dear extended family of Dutch (Audrey) Simmons of Lindsay and Esther (Vern) Farrell of Arnprior and Murff Lockett and Sheila (Murray) McBride of Arnprior and Larry (Lynn) Marshall of Oakville. Cousin of Bruce (Stephanie) Lee of Australia, Gavin (Anne) Lee and Donald (Grace) Lee of New Zealand. Resting at the Boyce Funeral Home, Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre, 138 Daniel Street N, Arnprior. Funeral service to take place in the Boyce Funeral Home and Chapel on Friday, August 2 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. J.J. Edmiston officiating. Visitations on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and after 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Royal Canadian Legion Service Thursday at 6:45 p.m. Order of Eastern Star service Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Interment at Malloch Road Cemetery following service and reception. In memoriams to the Arnprior Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or the Arnprior Humane Society appreciated by her family. Jessie was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #67 in Lindsay since 1957. Member of the Lindsay Song Spinners and Circle 8 Square dancers and high lever caller. 52-year member of the Royal Order of the Eastern Star, Laurel #164 in Toronto. Past Matron of Coronation Chapter #218 in Lindsay and honorary member of the Eastern Star, Arnprior Chapter #211. Jessie was an avid world traveller and music lover. People and music were her passion. She will be sadly missed by her Hero Dog, Brodie, and her feathered friend Fred. Her wonderful sense of humour and beautiful spirit will be forever treasured by those lives she touched. Until we meet again, Star Love.
