Jessie Daye ABINGDON, Va. Jessie Daye, age 66, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at his residence. He was a native of Washington County, Va., and had lived in Galax, Va., for 20 years prior to moving back to Washington County, Va., in 1987. He is survived by two sisters, Annette Blanchette of Taylor Valley, Va., and Clarice Branch of Doe Valley, Tenn.; one brother, John C. Gentry Sr. of Taylor Valley; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Mr. Maurice Widener, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
