Charles Balcer

EASTON——Charles Balcer, 96, of Easton, formerly of Brockton, passed away January 30, 2021 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Dolena (Kinslow) Balcer and Elsie (Goodwin) Balcer. Born and raised in Krakow, Poland, a son of the late Joseph and Wladyslaw Balcerzak, he emigrated to the US in 1949 where he landed at Ellis Island in New York. After, he arrived in Stoughton where he lived for 5 years before settling in Brockton where he resided for 30 years before retiring to Port Richie, FL. Until moving to Easton several years ago. Charles was employed as a skilled machinist for Gil Machine Company of Stoughton for 35 years. Charles enjoyed walking, yard maintenance and most importantly his times spent with family. He also enjoyed visiting his birth land during his retirement, Charles was the father Elsie Benton of Witchita Falls, TX., Charlene Medeiros and her husband Conrad of Easton, Carol Fleischmann and her husband Bruce of Randolph and the late Eileen Barrett; step-father of Peter Hamilton of FL., Sheldon Hampton and his wife Mady of Avon and Thomas Hampton of Sandwich; also survived by numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Donations in Charles' memory may be sent to Easton Food Pantry, 136 Elm Street, Easton, MA. 02356.
