Back in 2004 and 2005, as an Army Captain (medical logistics), I walked into Jettaka´s Office at USAMMCE (She was the senior commander) for help late one evening after flying non-stop from Afghanistan. At the time, I was working for the US Army Ranger Regiment and Joint Special Operations Command Command Surgeon, which desperately needed specialized emergency medical supplies that had just been FDA approved. At that time, our casualty rates were high in Iraq and Afghanistan in direct combat missions with our Special Mission Units. Unfortunately, the only location with the supplies was in Greensboro, NC.

Before this, I had never met with her or had the opportunity to talk with her. After pitching my request for prioritizing support, she recognized that I had not slept for days. She quickly told me, "she´s got this," and recommended a place to stay for the evening and to grab a German Beer. She immediately called the company that made the material and got my 25 cases sent DHL overnight from Greensboro, NC, to Germany. She was a fantastic leader, mentor, and AMEDD professional!

Over the next couple of years, I worked with her closely to support various missions throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. I sent one of my senior partners to imbed with her office for 90 - 120 days.

Sadly, I did not contact her as I moved on to a different career path. Today, as I finally tracked her down, I came across her memorial.

RIP Ma´am

Jettaka was a beloved sister of our fraternity, Zeta Tau Alpha, while at Longwood. When reading about all of her accomplishments and accolades, we remember a phrase in our Creed, "to be humble in success..." That phrase personifies Jettaka. While at Longwood, she was busy performing her duties in the ROTC, and so for many of us, our opportunity to know and love her deeply as a sister, came in the last decade, as we celebrated our sisterhood at reunions. To spend time with Jettaka, and to see her radiant smile and eyes full of warmth (and sometimes mischief), was a gift that too many of us received too late and for too short a time. We will miss her charm, her poise, her laughter, her ability to get along with everyone, and her sweet disposition. We do love you, sister Jettaka. Zeta love forever, The Sisters of Alpha Chapter

Jettaka was one of the best leaders I had the privilege to work for while serving our country, she will be missed but never forgotten.

A wonderful human being in every possible sense of the word, fun, accomplished, centered, responsible, a leader, mentor, and friend. Dave
