Betty J. Green, nee Lewis, 79, Gerald, passed away peacefully in Washington, losing her battle with COVID-19, Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.

Betty, was born June 20, 1941, to parents Woodrow "Tuck" and Dorothy Lewis, in St. Louis County. She received her education in Eureka. Betty married Wesley Green, Jan. 12, 1961. They made their home in west St. Louis County. They were blessed to raise a son and were entrusted to help raise generations of nieces and nephews. Their love for children was abundant. Betty worked for 22-plus years for the Sisters of Mercy in Frontenac, until her retirement in 2004.

Betty is survived by one child, Virge Birdnow and wife Loriluz; three grandsons, Yennoel, Giolo and Niko Garbin, all of St. Peters; one brother, Jerry Lewis, Ballwin; one sister, Mary Lewis, Gerald; sisters-in-law, Linda Lewis, Union, Aurelia Lewis, Wildwood, and Dee Lewis, Kansas City; one former sister-in-law, Linda Crews (Lewis); a host of nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, Jim (Sara), Lee, Ed (Aurelia), Don (Linda) and Stanley (Dee); sisters-in-law, Sara Lewis (Jim), South Carolina state, and Judy Lewis (Jerry), Ballwin; two nieces; and two nephews.

No public service for Betty J. Green was held, per her wishes.

Private committal was at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, with her husband.

All services were entrusted to the care of Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
