JILL WARD Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch from Jul. 6 to Jul. 7, 2013.
WARD, Jill K., age 55, of Henrico, Va., died peacefully from complications of pancreatic cancer on July 3, 2013. She is survived by her husband and best friend in the world, Michael D. Ward. Jill is also survived by her wonderful, loving children, Jenna Ward, Alec Ward and Kyle Ward; as well as a beloved son from another mother, "Tre" Tennyson. Jill is also survived by two brothers, Doug Lallier and his wife, Tracy, of Englishtown, N.J., Chuck Lallier and his wife, Becky, of Durham, N.C.; and her mother, Betty Lallier of Durham, N.C.; as well as wonderful nieces, nephews and many, many, fabulous friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Keith Lallier, who also died of pancreatic cancer. She deeply loved her family, her friends and practically everyone she met. Jill was an estate-planning attorney for over 20 years and thoroughly enjoyed her job and her clients. Her passion was helping children and she volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Head Start Program and at Richmond's Friends Association for Children in Church Hill. A Celebration of Jill's Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 3 p.m. The service will take place at the First Unitarian Church, 1000 Blanton Ave., Richmond, Va. 23221. Comfortable, casual and colorful attire is encouraged. If you wish to make a memorial contribution in Jill's memory, the family requests that you consider donating to PanCAN (the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network). A donation website has been set up in Jill's honor and can be found at https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/jillward/KeeptheMemoryAlive.

Mike, Mary and I are heartbroken over Jill's passing. I still cannot reconcile that the eager young law student who worked with me is no more. My deepest sympathy for the loss for you and your children.
