My dear Jim, I watched you for many years on Gomer Pyle USMC and the best episode was when you sang "The Impossible Dream". You have a great baritone voice! Some people told my dad he look like you. I remember you came to the 1978 Alabama Homecoming Parade. You also do a good job singing "O Holy Night". You make me laugh when I was watching your show and I cried when I heard you died. You are now in Heaven with my Dad, Mom, and my brother Glen. May you rest in peace and God bless.

I grew up watching the Andy Griffith show and Gomer Pyle. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of rushing home to watch the TV and, made sure I got my daily dose of humor.
A lot of my earliest recollections of what made me the happiest, was brought to me from Mr. Nabors comedic acting. I thoroughly enjoyed each performance. The world could definitely use some of Mr. Nabors, lighthearted antics in these chaotic and uncertain times. His vocal abilities gave me inspiration and, the drive to try singing myself. I practiced and wanted to sing like him.
He will be missed and thought of fondly, for as long as I am still around. I have shared shows with my kids. I hope his legacy will continue to bring joy for generations to come.
Rest well sir. You certainly made some people smile and, life a little easier.

eyes. Nabors was so much more than Gomer Pyle. His legend

I was born in 1975. Been watching Jim Nabors on TV reruns since I was a baby. My dad was a soldier in WWII & loved the shows Jim starred in + owned many of his record albums. He died in 2008 at age 83. I know they're both together now & probably best-buddies in Heaven. I have 2 brothers (born in the mid-'50s) who grew up with these shows (one died in 2005). We all used to watch the Indy 500 on TV every year & Jim's performance was the highlight of the event. My whole family enjoyed Jim's many talents & contributions to this world.

It wasn't just the humor that made Jim's TV character shine....but also those sad, sweet moments that brought tears. My MOST FAVORITE episodes of the Andy Griffith & Gomer Pyle series were always the ones that made me cry. You know, when someone in the show is really hurting & then comforted--or when there's a death that's caringly handled with respect--or when a broken heart is healed--or when a person loses faith in themselves & it's restored. It moves me SO deeply every time I watch & listen to Jim sing with such feeling in the shows--I begin crying (my dad did, too!).

The BEST thing about "Gomer Pyle USMC" is that it teaches love, humility, honor, kindness, forgiveness & patience to the viewers--while disguised as a 'sitcom'; these are the basic life-lessons/skills & values that everyone needs to become better people. That's what I liked about the show. Same thing with Andy Griffith. GREAT stuff. Wish they still made wholesome TV series such as these today. Perhaps more kids would grow into respectful, responsible, REAL ADULTS--like they used to!!

In actuality Jim Nabors was a somewhat shy, WONDERFUL soul with a generous, selfless & loving faith-filled heart--much like his beloved TV persona, Gomer. His television appearances/performances were always genuine, a part of who he really WAS inside--never phony or forced--displaying his TRUE nature. Jim accidentally became 'famous' without trying, because God purposely guided his life in such a way that his gifts of song & goodwill would be shared with MILLIONS; used to help + bring cheer to others in need & make life more enjoyable for everyone he touched.

When I see there's a show coming on with Jim as a guest-star, I always watch it--yup, even if it's "The Love Boat"....he's THAT AWESOME.

THANK-YOU JIM, for spreading God's light to all of us through your exceptional life! You are remembered, LOVED & MISSED. Bet you're having FUN hanging-out with all your TV buds who've passed--Don, Andy, George & Frank + the rest. They were sweet, SPECIAL people, just like you. Give Jesus a high-five for me! (Hope you'll also be MY buddy in Heaven someday.)

I'm sorry you will have to endure without your precious, cherished LOVE & lover, from now on. I was born in 1959 and never missed watching Gomer Pyle after school each day. I'm still watching episodes now. All the greatest stars were from yesterday. Jim will always be immortal to us all.

It's been almost a year. Gone but never forgotten. Through your show and BEAUTIFUL singing voice, you live in many hearts.

It would have been very difficult time indeed

It is a very sad time indeed.

And of cause it takes back down memory lane to your child hood memories days indeed.

He was one of the funniest guy to ever grace the silver screen of its time indeed.

Especially when it had to competed with the English comedy of its time indeed.

Has the English comedy is the funniest comedy in the world.

In my opinion a lot more funny than the American comedy especially in Todays world of comedy indeed.

As a long time fan, I enjoyed, and grew up with, not only all of the Gomer Pyle episodes, but The Jim Nabors Hour as well. I was always surprised at how "Gomer" spoke and then his incredible singing voice. My favorite episode is Jim singing The Impossible Dream, accompanied by the President's Marine Band. They don't make them like that anymore. You will be missed.

I'm saddened to hear of the death of Jim Nabors. His character Gomer gave me many moments of laughter which is so therapeutic. I pray that his family can find solace from the Holy Writings that soon Almighty God will do away wth all things that cause suffering such as death.

As I look at his picture I can't do nothing but smile.

I watched Gomer as a child and he relieved us concerns even if just for those few minutes on TV. We enjoyed his portrayal. My sincere condolences to the family, friends and fans who have lost their loved one to death. God will comfort and sustain you during this difficult time.

I remember when i was grow up i used to watch The Andy Griffith Starred as Gomer Pyle every day, I like when he appeared with Andy, Opie & Aunt Bee, then Jim had his own Spin Off Gomer Pyle U.SM.C Gomer, i like that show very much it is so funny with Gomer, Sgt Carter, he made us laugh which they say it is best medince, we could still catch the reruns of The Andy Griffith on TV Land. We all know that he is in a great place now and reunited with Andy, Don Knotts, Aunt Bee and Sgt Carter. My thoughts, prayers are with your Family.
