Nancy, Stewart, Betty and Gary:
I am sorry to hear that Jim has passed away. He will be missed by so many people. He was a true friend of our family.
When I think of Jim, I think a a cattleman through and through. Who else would put together several loads of cattle while in Houston for cancer treatment? I'm sure it never occurred to him to sit in a room and take it easy between treatments. Cattle were such a part of his life that going to the salebarn was just a natural thing to do. I am convinced that is why he was a cancer survivor for all of those years.
I don't have to tell you how blessed that you were to have had Jim. Even though it has been 30(!) years since Betty and I were roommates in college, I'll always treasure my assosiation with your family that started way back when I was born.
God bless you all,
Diane (Smith) Kretschmer

I too feel a great sence of loss. I am one of the lucky few that Jim welcomed into his home and into his heart. Through nursing I got to know this incredible family. Each day spent with a Williamson is a gift. May God smile upon those Jim left behind.
Love,

For this is what the LORD says: "I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees. As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem. When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants... Isaiah 66:12-14

Seeing Jim's laughter in his photo made me smile and sigh and remember how much he loved life and his family and friends. That photo really captured his spirit and zest for life!

What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man and a life well-lived. I count it a privilege and an honor that I knew him and got to enjoy some of that famous Williamson hospitality on the ranch. Always good times, good food, good laughs. Very special memories.

To Nancy, Betty, Milz, Katie, Gary, Christine, Chloe and all the rest of the family: Please know my heart, my thoughts, my prayers are with all of you especially now. I pray for comfort, strength and grace in your loss and I know much love will surround you as you treasure Jim and the time you had together and remember many, many reasons to smile. He loved you all so very much!
Love always,
Janet

Dearest Nancy, Betty and Williamson Family

It is with great sadness I hear of Jim's passing. But I have spent the evening reminicing about the kind hospitality and warmth shown to me by Jiim, Nancy and the family when I spent a the year of 1988, 21 years ago now, as an exchange student from South Africa to Portales. I know that I was only one of many many foreign students who enjoyed the experience of watching the roping and branding of the cattle. Shared in the incredible togetherness of the ranching community when neighbours came to help with heavy workload on those days. And of course the wonderful meals in which we all partook. Was introduced to rodeos and the life of cattle ranchers.Millions of people visit the US but only a few very fortunate ones like myself have had the privalege of experiencing the "real" America, with the openess of heart, welcoming arms, generosity of spirit and giving of love and friendship which is so fundamentally built into the heritage and culture of families such as the Williamsons. Although the cities with big lights and fancy malls are super exciting, in my mind to experience the true America and her people one would have to be privaledged enough to be invited into the homes of those who reside in the countryside where centuries of tradition, heritage, the importance of family values, hard work, supporting each other and the community are all important. I was have been one of those luckly people and I will be forever grateful to Jim and his family for their kindness. Thank you for enriching my life.

With love and fond memories to Nancy, Betty and the family
