Jimmie (Jim) Edgar Roberts, born on December 25, 1940, in Salinas, California, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2024, in Pleasanton, CA. Jim, a man of faith, was loving, good-natured, honest, patient, and loyal to his family.

Jim grew up on a ranch in Salinas, CA. He was a proud graduate of Salinas High School, Class of 1959. Jim was in the National Guard, where he served with honor. For 45 years, he dedicated himself to running his own landscaping company with his wife, Bernie.

Early in life, Jim raced dragsters and briefly held the world speed record. Jim enjoyed hunting and going to the gun range. He had a passion for horses, football, John Wayne and western movies, and his beloved 1941 Packard. Jim also had a special place in his heart for dogs.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bernie; sons, Michael and Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; grandson, Tyler; sisters, Carol and Lynda; brothers-in-law, Steve, David, Richard, and Benny; sister-in-law, Kathy; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray; mother, Ruby; brother, Don; and brother-in-law, Mike.

Jim's Celebration of Life is planned for May 19, 2024, at the family's home in Livermore. Contributions can be made in Jim's memory to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association. Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
