Jimmy Collier, 56, of Hot Springs, died Friday, April 02, 2004 at home. Born July 21, 1947 in Hot Springs to Reece and Willie Hefley Collier, he was of the Baptist Faith, U.S. Navy Veteran, Vietnam War, received the Silver Star Medal as well as many other medals; one of the founders of the Vietnam Veterans Organization of Hot Springs; and was a retired SSG with the Hot Springs Police Department and member of the Fratenal Oder of Police.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Libby Collier of Hot Springs; two sons, James Collier and Sean Collier, both of Hot Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Lonetta Collier of Jessieville; father and mother-in-law, J.C. and Patsy Ables of Hot Springs; and several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Services were 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2004 at Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Hill officiating. Pallbearers were the Hot Springs Police Department Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers were the Vietnam Veterans Organization of Hot Springs, Hot Springs Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police. Burial was 1:00 p.m. Monday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas with Full Military and Police Honors.
