Jimmy Roscoe Scott, 78, of Conover passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton.

Born August 9, 1935 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Otis Roscoe and Zelda Marie Munday Scott. He had been employed as a Plant Manager in the furniture industry. Mr. Scott was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Conover.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Teague Scott of the home; brother, J. D. Scott and his wife Charlene of Newton; sisters, Betty Williams and husband Bob of Hickory and Shirley Moore and husband Jimmy of Bethlehem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover. Rev. Scott Bollinger and Rev. Stewart Lankford will officiate and burial will follow at Bethlehem Church of God in Alexander County.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4420 County Home Road, Conover, NC 28613.
