GILMER - Services for Jimmy Ray Stanley, 56, of Gilmer, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Gilmer, with the Rev. Mark Huffhines and Larry Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Oak Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Stanley passed away Friday August 28, 2009, in Longview.
Mr. Stanley was born June 28, 1953, in Gilmer, Texas, to Bobby Joe and Katie Simmons Stanley. He was a self-employed building contractor in Gilmer for 32 years and the owner of Jimmy Stanley Construction Inc. and J.S. Limited Custom Portable Buildings. Jimmy was a member and part of the ministry staff at Church of Power in Gilmer and a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. Words can not express how much he will be missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Aubrey Leverett Stanley; daughter, Andi Stanley Bunn and her husband, Chris, and their children, Indiana Billings and Cammie Ray Stanley; daughter, Aimee Stanley Blavier and her daughter, Zoe Blavier, all of Gilmer; stepdaughters, Poppy Kennimer Elwell and her husband, Jae, and their children, Jericha, Johnathon and Max Elwell, of Gilmer, and Jennifer Kennimer Hillis and her husband, Dr. Mike Hillis, and their children, Avery and Thomas Hillis of Fort Smith Arkansas; mother, Katie Stanley of Ore City; brothers, Bobby Stanley, Joe Stanley and Ivan Stanley, all of Gilmer; sister, Sharon Stanley of Gilmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Stanley; and the mother of his children, Betty Dye Stanley.
Pallbearers will be Doug Duke, Tim Fielden, Bryan Oney, Dennis Casey, Bobby Davis and Will King.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, August 31, 2009, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss! Mr. Stanley was our contractor on our home a little less then a year ago and it was truley a blessing working with him! We will keep his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers!
