Jo Ann Hambaugh-Gaylor, aged 70, passed away on May 26, 2025, in Tampa, FL. Born on December 21, 1954, Jo Ann dedicated 25 years of service to GTE of Florida before her retirement.

Jo Ann was known for her fun-loving spirit and deep care for others, traits that made her a beloved figure among family and friends. Her passion for life was matched by her love for animals, which was a constant throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, William David Gaylor; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jana and Larry Withers, Tina and Jerry Rhodes, Connie and Michael Ortiz; her brothers and sister-in-law, Danny and Trish Hambaugh, and Davie Hambaugh; along with 7 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews, and extended family members. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Lois Mildred Bucy and George Withworth Hambaugh, and her brother, Randy Jogues Hambaugh.

A graduate of Leto High School in 1972, Jo Ann also expressed her creative side through poetry, a hobby that began in her teens. Her work included notable pieces like "Parents" at age 15, and "Farewell," written as an adult which was published in the American Poetry Anthology in 1989.

Jo Ann's life and legacy will be remembered for her unwavering support and kindness, her contributions to her family and workplace, and her artistic contributions to the world of poetry. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jo Ann was the family historian and was the keeper of photos, dates, heirlooms and more. She always made sure we knew where we came from and gave each of us siblings a binder that she filled with family documents, photos, and family history. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. It was at Jo Ann & Dave's home that Chicken & Yellow Rice along with Cuban Sandwiches and crab cakes became a family tradition. For many years, we met up at different locations for a sisters lunch. I am saddened to think there will be no more lunches, but happy about the memories. Love you forever Jo Ann
