Joël GAUTHIER

In fact Joël's spirit lives on daily... in the smiling faces of the dozens of Rockland youth enjoying the Joël Gauthier Skateboard Park built - by his parents - in his honour and his memory.

It was Joël's dream and it came true. Wow. As a lifelong Rockland resident, I think of this young man every time I walk past our municipal park. I can think of no more fitting tribute to him, his family, and his indominable spirit. Thank you Joël for a great gift that continues to bring lasting joy and pleasure to other young people. Your spirit lives on. Merci Joël.

At times like these, I really do not know what to say. I recall how proud you were of Joel, of your whole family. You are a prime example of a terrific, loving father. Given all the remarks by those closest to Joel, he was truly an awesome person. It is so unfair that his vibrant life was cut way too short by this tragic accident. My thoughts are with you and your family. My sincerest condolences.

Dear Pierre, Lynne and family. There simply are no words to express our deepest, deepest sorrow over the loss of your darling son, Joel as a result of this tragic accident. I am devastated by this news. I have been blessed to know Joel most of his life. He was a kind and gentle person and a pleasure to know. My prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time.

As a former colleague of Pierre, I heard him speak often about his two children. My heart breaks for you Pierre & Lynne as I cant even imagine the loss you must be feeling.
