I am so sad to see this obituary. Mrs Carter was an incredible friend to me. She taught me much about life and a lot of life skills. She also showed me unconditional love all the time and I was in need. She made a world of difference in my life.
I miss her every day.

Joan was a very gracious and lovely person. My husband Kent and I spent many lovely Christmas brunches at their house in Bolton Hill. My daughter Anne Staige went some times also. It is she who recognized the name and sent me the obituary. I remember her lovely smile. What a lovely person.

Joan's warm smile and greeting was always part of our many years on Bolton Street. Lou and Joan were part of the fabric that made this a neighborhood like no other I have known. May her memory be a blessing.

May God's promise found in John 6:40, of the hope to see our loved ones again, comfort your heart and give you peace, strength, and hope in the days ahead.
