Joan Collins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 4, 2025.
Joan M. Collins (née Errico), 80, of Deerfield Beach, FL, passed away peacefully July 24, 2025. Joan was born November 21, 1944, in Long Branch, NJ, to Frederick and Rosemarie Errico. She was married for 57 years to her "greatest love and guiding star," Ronald Henry Collins, who preceded her in death November 17, 2021. Loving sister to the late Frederick Errico Jr. and the late Clara Ann Edwardsen.

Joan graduated from Long Branch High School in 1962. After marrying shortly thereafter, she became one of the very first female barbers in the country-an achievement on which she prided herself. In 1970, Joan and Ronald moved to Florida, where she continued barbering for a few years. Subsequently, she held such jobs as medical secretary, insurance verification clerk, discharge cashier, and radiology receptionist.

Ever the craft enthusiast, Joan loved designing bookmarks and greeting cards for her nieces and nephews-even well into their adulthood.

In her later years, Joan derived much joy and comfort from her two Chihuahuas-Bogie (named after her favorite actor, Humphrey Bogart) and Lily.

In keeping with Joan's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral, so feel free to plant a tree, adopt a pet, or donate to your favorite charity in her memory. She would no doubt appreciate that.
