Joan J Daviau

Joan J. Daviau (née Vienneau), of Davenport, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August 6, 1937, in Rumford, Maine, Joan lived a vibrant and fulfilling life marked by creativity, passion, and an unwavering spirit.

Joan began her professional journey as a cosmetologist, a career that reflected her flair for style and attention to detail. After retiring from the beauty industry, she and her beloved husband Armand embraced a shared passion for dance. For 16 years, they traveled up and down the Eastern Seaboard as part of the Round dance community-choreographing routines and calling steps with grace and precision. Their partnership on the dance floor was a testament to their deep bond and mutual love for movement and music.

Joan's enthusiasm for life extended beyond her professional endeavors. She was an avid reader who found joy in stories both real and imagined. Her hands were rarely idle-she loved to knit and took great pride in sewing all of her own dancing outfits, each one crafted with care and creativity. Her love for ballroom and round dancing remained a defining part of her identity throughout her life.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Armand Daviau; daughter Lori Ann Eden and son-in-law Spencer Eden of Davenport, Florida; son Lawrence A. Daviau and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Springfield, Massachusetts; sister Dolores Reis and brother-in-law Peter of Gloucester, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Joan was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Lisa M. Dupuis, who passed away on December 4, 2022.

Those who knew Joan will remember her sharp wit, infectious humor, and fierce independence. She lived life on her own terms-and left it the same way. Her presence brought light to every room she entered, and she will be deeply missed by many.
