I met Joan when I moved to Ginger Cove. She and I were among the several Joan H´s living here. She and I were at the same dinner table on Friday nights and she always had us in stitches. As mentioned, she never ate the chick peas, always had an Arnold Palmer and nearly always asked for a half portion, although complained they never listened! One night my son was my guest at our table. He was on the beach patrol in Ocean City in the 1980´s and she told him the story of she, her Mother and her sisters escape from Ocean City during the big storm of 1933. He loved that story. I will miss her forever...she was a special lady.

We were pleased to have met her over the years at her visits to Louisville. I believe you captured her well in the obituary. Prayers to the family. Cotton and Jean

We had just moved into the apartment next to hers at Ginger Cove. Joan was sitting outside on her patio eating crabs that her son had just delivered. She invited me over and had a great afternoon together picking crabs!

My earliest memory of my sweet Aunt Joan was when they lived in Roger´s Forge. Shortly after Mary Pat´s birth she planted several dolls´ heads in the flower bed to explain to the children where babies came from . I was 5 years old at the time and didn´t believe her one bit!

The first memory of my sweet Aunt Joan is her flower bed in which she " planted" dolls´ heads to explain to the children where babies came from. I was about 5 years old at the time and didn´t believe it one bit!
