Joan was a great Mother-In-Law to me. She took care to not take sides between her Son and me but always winked and told me she supported me in any situation. We would just laugh about that as an inside joke. Her Son (my husband) laughed too and took it all in stride. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. I miss her laugh. She was always excited to share with me the latest book or show she was enjoying. She was passionate about animals and anything that supported the care and conservation of animals. I loved that about her. She fiercely loved her children and grandchildren and did everything she could for them. She was steadfast in all her convictions and never wavered in her beliefs. This created many "stimulating" conversations over the years. I was so impressed with her knowledge of sports, especially basketball players and their statistics. She could keep up great conversations with most men when it came to sports she enjoyed. She loved me like a daughter and always told me so. She taught her kids to be independent and strong just like her. I pray that she is traveling the world, breathing freely and without pain, watching over all God´s creatures.

Joanie and I started as partners in crime and then became like a mother to me. I miss her so much and wish I could be there today. I miss our talks and I miss our laughs but I know she is so happy being home now with her parents and all her furbabies.

Remembering all the times your Mother was there for you and your family may ease the pain of losing her. What a blessing for your family to have had the last few days and hours with her to say good bye. Bob & Helaine

My sincerely condolences to the entire family. I will never forget Joan´s voice. I did not have the privilege to spend time with her in person. We only shared phone calls when she worked with Steve and Leslie. I will never forget how special she made me feel. For the longest time, I had no idea she was Steve´s mother. She never brought it up. Joan treated me like a peer, always sweet and always giving me praise. Sending a big hug all the way to heaven!

I always loved hanging out with Sabrina my BFF in 7th and 8th grade. I always thought Sabrina's mom was so glamourous and so very kind. LOVED everything about Joan. I will miss your posts on Facebook and coming to my rescue when others may not agree with me. I know your soul lives for eternity, and you will always surround your loved ones.

Joan Justus Obituary
Joan was the most devoted mom her four children could ever ask for, not flawless, but she was always willing to be better and ask for forgiveness when necessary. Her family started when her son, Mike, was born. This gave her the greatest joy... Read Joan Justus's Obituary
