Joan KINGSMITH

I am so sorry to hear about Joan. We were roommates in the late 80s .I worked for CFCN and she was freelancing. I knew we would get on well as the first day we met I was standing at her front door with one foot covered in wet cement, as I had not noticed they were repaving her sidewalk, and she got down on her knees and cleaned it off my shoe! That was the start of a fun relationship. Her cat hated me but loved my futon. I am deeply sorry to hear about her death as she was always so full of life and I have some great memories and stories due to her...and I can't believe she ended up marrying a Bell! Maybe we are now somehow related.

I will always have fond memories of belting out Bohemian Rhapsody with the windows rolled down, driving through the streets of Calgary. A fabulous spirit!! Rest well Joan.

I had the great pleasure of hanging with Joan at Mount Royal. I was up from the States and she was one of my first buddies. She was really good at her craft, and we always laughed. I wish we would have stayed in touch, but life happens. She was a beautiful shining light.

I enjoyed Joan's friendship over the years. I loved spending time walking in the woods with her and our dogs, and laughing! I'll miss her. She was so proud of Nicholas. Warm thoughts to all of you.

I remember Joan being one of the kindest and most upbeat ladies I worked with at A-Channel. Nick you were just a little guy I met a few times when you came into work with your mom and dad, but your mom always talked about you and your accomplishments. Joan you will be missed. May your soul rest in peace, Amen.

Thinking of all of you and my deepest sympathies. Joan and I did a road trip to Expo '86 together. She had a great sense of humor and a very quick wit. We laughed a lot. We worked together again briefly at CTV Calgary (around 2007) and had some giggles reminiscing about the 4 party girls without dates. She had a sparkle in her eye when she talked about you Brett and Nicolas. She will be missed.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss. I went to Mount Royal with Joanie and although I have not seen her in many years, I will always remember her as a kind, sensitive and funny soul. I hope your memories sustain you through this very sad time.

I light this candle today in memory of Joan! I was blessed to have her in my life and had the amazing opportunity to share in the wonderful memories of our children growing up together! You will be fondly remembered!

Dear Kingsmith and Bell families,
I will miss Joan every time the girls go for coffe. We have been friends since jr. High and confirmation classes at St. Laurence.
There are too many memories from school, MRC and after. My condolences to all the family you were her heart, and the reason she fought so hard. She is in our hearts and memories forever.

I will always remember Joan for her laughter and honesty, her love of coffee and cute clothes. We went to Mount Royal College together and had many good times. I had no family in Calgary but Joan made me feel like part of hers. I will truly miss her.

I used to walk to grade school with Joan and go to community centre activities with her. She was bright, funny and a good friend. Condolences to the family.

To Marlene, Don, Doug, and all of your beloved family members - You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Joan was a joy to work with, and I always knew how lucky I was to be counted as one of her friends. I will miss her dearly but she will be in my heart forever.

Joan I have fondest of memories of out time spent on the ice and at your home listening to the 'New" beat usually much to your parents chagrin.. I'll remember your laughter as we played at the Coral when supposed to be doing figures! Think we tried every Centennial players hockey gear out!
