Joan Love- Finnefrock Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
Joan Winifred Love Finnefrock of Rising Sun MD went home to be with the Lord on July 10th 2025

Joan was the daughter of the late Wilfred Love and Clara Crothers Love of Conowingo MD. She was married to Horace E. Finnefrock for 64 years at the time of his death in 2016.

She is survived by her four children Joni Ewing (Dennis Fenninger), Richard Finnefrock (Catherine), Dina Renshaw (William), Cathy Reinhardt (Kenneth). As well as her six grandchildren Rebecca, Richard Caleb, Kenneth Tyler, Julia, Raven, and Caitlyn. Along with six great grandchildren.

Joan was a proud resident of Connelly Rd along with her beloved husband Horace. The Finnefrock's door was always open to anyone in need of a good meal, laughter, one of her magic hugs, or just a warm conversation.

Joan worked many jobs over the years from being a secretary at the Conowingo Dam to the Administrative Assistant for Cecil County Parks and Recreation. But her favorite job of all was being a mother and grandmother. She was known as Mom, Mommom, Nan, Memom, and Grandmom to many over the years.

Her friends and family will forever remember her compassionate heart, wisdom, love of reading and history, and her sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.

Joan was proceeded in death by her son in law Leon Ewing, older sisters Hallie Love Campbell and Lillian Love Hopkins, younger brother Wilfred Benjamin Love and younger sister Carolyn Love Pearthree

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses Jordan, Lauren, and Kayla of Amedisys Hospice for the love and care they provided for Joan. The smile they kept on her face meant more then they will ever know.

A memorial luncheon will be held in Joan's memory on August 17th 2025 at the Rising Sun Community Center from 2-4pm
