Joan and my mom were best friends growing up and it carried into when they were married and had children. I use to babysit Sara and Katie when they lived on morningside Circle in Wayne. Joan did a beautiful reading at my mom´s service years ago. My condolences to Sara, Katie and the rest of the family.

Sara and Katie

I am so sorry for your loss. My son, Billy Hendricks, went to school with you, Katie. I fondly remember your mom and how nice she was to everyone. When you, Billy, Steven, Brian and Kevin were at Sunday school , your mom, Mrs. Parker and I would sometimes go get coffee and chat. She was a wonderful person.

I hope the beautiful memories you have of your mom will help to sustain you during this difficult time.

I met Joan and Katie when they came for haircuts at Charles & Stephen Salon. Joan was such a sweet woman and I know will surely be missed.

I´ve known Joan my entire life. We grew up together in Wayne and she was born on the same day as my sister Mary - and in the same hospital. Our family treated her as a sister and daughter when we were kids. She always referred to our family members as her own such as Aunt Audrey or Uncle John.
Mary died almost 30 years ago and I called Joan on her birthday ever since. In recent years, we kept in contact every few months and whenever I returned to Wayne we tried to get together for lunch or dinner.

She was the glue that held the Good Sam Day School together. She always had a smile on her face to greet the children and their parents. And her sense of humor always kept the atmosphere warm and friendly. She will be sorely missed by many.
