Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

February 29, 2016

My mother now lies beneath the green grass of Virginia.
Miles from my home in Illinois.
Yet, I know that a share of her soul watches over me here,
while a piece of my heart rests there with her.

Mr. Sheehan, Tim, Terry and Family,

I was so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. She was a lovely, kind and considerate lady. I still have the decorative ceramic tile Trivet she gave me from one of her trips to AZ as a thank you for handling some of her work while she was gone. I've had since 1985. It's been in every home I have lived in and its the first thing I put in my kitchen. This world will be a little darker without her in it.

Dearest Tom and family members,
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of Joan.
Joan was an extraordinary woman. She was truly a gem, and having spent 21 years of our life with both you and Joan at Excess Underwriters, GATX and Thomas F. Sheehan, Inc., we still remember and reminisce the "good old days" we all had together. Joan was always a pleasure to be around with and we will remember her for her zest of life, smile, kindness and her close attachment to her family, and particularly yourself Tom.
May your memories of Joan help to sustain you at this most difficult time. Our prayers and thoughts are with you, and will remain so forever.

Mr. Sheehan and Family:

I was so saddened to hear of Mrs. Sheehan's passing.

She was a wonderful & kind person. One
of the TFS, girls. I so enjoyed talking with her about clothes and fashion as we both loved that.

TFS, Inc. was truly like family. I enjoyed my 10 years with Mr. & Mrs. Sheehan from GATX, Ins. to the basement office at Park Ridge to the beautiful Shaumburg office. What a fun
and great place to work.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to all of you. May you
find peace and comfort in all of your
memories of her.

I will sorely miss her annual Christmas
card with her updates on her family.

Tom and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Joan was such a good person and I enjoyed working with her at your business in Schaumburg, IL. We were all like family there and it was a sad day when you closed the doors. Take care. Sharon Sheehan, the unrelated Sheehan

Joan is my sister, and it was an honor to be part of her 'letting go" process. To reconnect after not seeing Joaniefor 19 years, made the trip from Santa Fe to Virginia one of the most intimate and valuable experiences of my life. We were even able to reminisce.
In addition I reconnected with Miki, Joan and Tom's daughter. She was the first little baby I ever cared for, and she was so adorable! I had not seen her in 30 years. We had such awarm/loving reunion-as though I had just had lunch with her the day before. Most importantly, she and I shared intimate moments with her mom together. I am in awe at how she managed to facilitate such a lovely experience for us all in such an organic way.
Another reconnection was with my nephew Tom, who I've always known as Timmy. Along with his wife, Susan, and Miki's husband Mike, we all worked together. Miki, Mike, Tom and Susan spent 3 nights at the hospital and only left to take care of other responsibilities. Everyone was amazing, and I love you all.
Joanie's husband, Tom, was able to say his goodbyes, and I had the opportunity to be with and listen to him as he accepted the inevitability of his loss.
Thank you all, and know that I love you.
