Very Loving and Sweet

Joan Sherwood was very kind to me as I began my teaching career at El Verano School. She was dignified, gracious, warm, and friendly. I would have loved to have had her as a teacher!

My condolences to the Sherwood family. Mrs. Sherwood was my all-time favorite teacher. She was my 2nd grade teacher that had a split 1st and second grade combined in 1973 (if I remember right). I will always remember her fondly. I remember I would drop by and say hi from time to time over the years when she was still teaching at El Verano school. She always somehow managed to remember me and always had a welcoming smile. It's funny how people imprint themselves on the lives of others, Mrs. Sherwood did that for me in a most positive way. Thank you, Mrs. Sherwood you will be missed.
