I started working for Joan in Sept 2009. After the interview at the recruitment agency, they asked how it went. I said, " I loved her, and I think she loved me!" After that I always enjoyed working with her and particularly enjoyed her company at Christmas parties. We were different in many ways, but the same in so many other ways. She was a lovely woman with a warm, natural heart. And I will miss her.

I met Joan through a mutual friend Joyce Singh, who had been friends with Joan for many years. I was a newcomer to this wonderful group of friends and was lovingly accepted because we all loved the Lord. I remember wonderful meals at Joan's home and the kindest she showed me. Rest in peace dear sister in Christ.

I met Joan in 1987 through my sister Joyce. Since then she had been a friend and Aunty to my kids and family. I enjoyed all her stories and learn allot about the bible . Her kindness, love, smile and the twinkles in her eyes will always be remembered.

My husband, Dave and I both worked with Joan at Shanahan's. I always enjoyed listening to her stories. Dave and I were also blessed to be invited to a few of Joan's dinner and a play evenings that she would put on near Christmas each year. What a wonderful cook!!! It was always a memorable evening.
