JOAN EVELYN WHITEHEAD
(Nee BROWN)
After a short illness - aged 90 - closed
her eyes peacefully at 9 o'clock in the morning on 3rd December.
She was born on St George's Day 1925 and went on to marry John Whitehead following a wartime romance - a double wedding with her sister Betty at
St Peter's Church, Bedford.
She will be mourned and sadly missed
by nine children, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
In 2010 her daughter Joan, moved in
with and cared for her, enabling her to retain her independence.
During her last months she was cared
for, and died, at the home of her youngest daughter, Ann, in Alveley, Shropshire.
The whole family would like to express their thanks to "Doc" Dale Abbotts of
The Alveley Medical Practice and all
the Alveley District Nurses for their kindness, help and understanding.
A service will be held at Pleasington Crematorium, Blackburn at 13.30 on Monday 14th December followed by a gathering of friends, family and well wishers at The Victoria Hotel, Tockholes.
