I didn't know Joan, but I know her daughter, Katelyn. I'm sure Katelyn's spirit matched her mom's vibrant spirit. I'm so sorry for the family's loss. I felt this pain many years ago, and it is not easy.

Joan had an uncanny way to make everybody laugh without telling a joke. Her life was filled with so many funny times, it´s hard to recall all of them but the one I will remember most is when we took a girls trip to The Cayman Islands and she went out into the ocean with a hot pink bathing suit with shiny silver dots on the fabric. When she walked in from being deep in the water, she was covered with shrimp who were attracted to her bathing suit. All that know her have heard this story over and over but we still all laugh because it only could happen to Joan, our dear, wonderful, happy, caring, smart, nurturing and best friend to so many. Since we did not have cell phone cameras back when this incident happened, the best I could do was to have a rendering made for you all to see.
