Out of sight is NOT out of mind as there are so many memories we shared
as family. Best of all was our trip to Italy. We had a blast. I just know that

I love the above picture. It is so YOU. Two years have passed and you are so in
my thoughts of the family parties and yes, in my heart. We had some wonderful times
even if I was always yelling at you for smoking. You were something else--as they say.
But oh how you were love and admired by so many. and none less by this sister in law.

Merry Christmas mom! The first one without you. I can't help reliving how great you and dad made Christmas when we were kids. I'm trying to do the same now for Lucas and Lexi. I miss you every day, but especially today. I'll never stop thinking about you. Love you

While I never knew Joanna, I have shared her piece "My Christmas Wish" every year in December, on my facebook page, since 2011. So many of my Boston area friends have shared it too...I imagine it has gone all over the world. My condolences to the entire Alfano family. JoJo was such a loving and welcoming person and I always felt like another one of her children when she offered her home to me on my journeys back and forth to college. She will always hold a special place in my heart and will be greatly missed by all.

Joanna was a Wonderful Person, she always made me laugh and I looked forward to seeing her almost everyday at Foodmaster. She will be missed by so many. To Joanna's Family, PLEASE ACCEPT OUR DEEPEST CONDOLONCES. DEBBIE AND JOE G.

I was saddened to hear of Cousin Joanna's passing. It seems like only yesterday we were playing on Ashley Street at our Grandmother's. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in Peace, Cousin Joanna.

I remember Mrs. Alfano as a fun and sassy lady who was so so kind to all of the Botolph street kids. I can only imagine the block party my Mum and Dad will have waiting for her. Much love to you all.

A beautifully brilliant light has gone out but I know it is in Heaven shining down even brighter now. Such a wonderful person, friend and soul. My heart is with the Alfanos and all of Mrs. A's friends and family.

To all Joanna's family, we are so saddened by your loss. What a wonderful women Joanna was. She was always smiling and had a great gift for conversation. We shared Melrose school events and she was a Fitton alumnus as was I.We are sure she will be greatly missed, but the memories will always be there.

When we first met at your older dentist office.I took to you right away.I would hold your hand during procedures,which you were always anxiety ridden.I felt a bond with you,When you were worried about certain procedures,I would explain it to you and try to relieve your stress and anxiety.You took a liking to my photography.I was so excited when you loved the photo "solitude",the black and white photo of a tree in winter in Revere.I will miss you .You were my favorite patient.I was so shocked to hear this .I enjoyed your pics of your grand kids,being on the beach in N.H.I express to your family how sorry i am ,she was a a beautiful woman.May she be at peace.
