Out of sight is NOT out of mind as there are so many memories we shared

I love the above picture. It is so YOU. Two years have passed and you are so in
my thoughts of the family parties and yes, in my heart. We had some wonderful times
even if I was always yelling at you for smoking. You were something else--as they say.
But oh how you were love and admired by so many. and none less by this sister in law.

Merry Christmas mom! The first one without you. I can't help reliving how great you and dad made Christmas when we were kids. I'm trying to do the same now for Lucas and Lexi. I miss you every day, but especially today. I'll never stop thinking about you. Love you

While I never knew Joanna, I have shared her piece "My Christmas Wish" every year in December, on my facebook page, since 2011. So many of my Boston area friends have shared it too...I imagine it has gone all over the world. Thanks to her, there is a place many of us can go to every year, to read and reminisce over her wonderful prose. She left her readers a marvelous gift. http://www.wickedlocal.com/x645111021/Joanna-Alfano-My-Christmas-wish

Hey Sister in Law--you may wonder why I put a Panda with my January Message. Well to tell the truth I evidently hit "something" I had no intention to do. BUT guess what? Pandas are considered rare and precious. So someone was guiding my hand 'cause that is YOU--rare and precious. You are in my heart

Dear Al, Anthony, Christine, Nicholas, and family,
I am heartbroken to learn of Joanna's passing. I will always fondly recall her, and your whole family, and our great years as neighbors, on Botolph St. You don't need me to tell you what a warm, loving, funny person JoJo was, but I want you to know how welcome she always made me feel in your home. I want you to know how warm she was, whenever we'd encounter each other, years after you moved away. I loved Joanna very much. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
With love,
Ken Maylor

Although we haven't been in any kind of contact lately, I feel close to Joanne and Al over a period of almost 45 years since we first met through FNB. I am sorry that I cannot express my feelings in person since Mariann & I have become permanent residents of Hobe Sound, Florida.
