For myself, it was quite heartwarming and uplifting to read about how she chose to courageously fight this battle head on with such strength, positivity and humour. I was so sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. I grew up next door to Joanne and have so many great memories of her genuine kindness and our shared love for animals. We spend hours in the summer sun, on our shared side lawn with Joanne's beloved guinea pigs and my pet rat. Hopscotch on Joanne's driveway was always so much fun as well, I am sure she would let me win as she was older and more mature than myself:) I cannot believe that she is gone, much too soon and wish I had known the 'grown up' version of Joanne because she was such a lovely childhood friend.
