Joanne (Jo) Castonguay Obituary
Jo worked as an LPN in dialysis care at St. Mary's Hospital for over 20 years. Once she moved from Duluth to Minneapolis, she found her passion in homecare. Her thoughtful and dignified care of others earned her constant praise from patients and coworkers. She loved movies, movie trivia, crafts, chocolate and whatever sport or activity her grandchildren participated in.
She became an avid bird enthusiast expanding beyond the great pink Flamingo that was always her signature favorite bird. She was a confidant to her daughter and trustworthy support to her family, always available for advice, laughter and hugs. She will be profoundly missed.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter Dana Castonguay ( Jim Sorensen), grandchildren Maranne Hull, Aaron Hull, Evan Hull (Tienne), Garrett Sorensen and precious great grandson Elias Hull (Evan and Tienne). Also, her siblings Pattie Castonguay, James (Bonnie) Castonguay and Mike (Terri) Castonguay.
The family will hold a private celebration to honor Jo's life and legacy.

I was a co-worker of Jo's at IHC and always enjoyed her gentle nature & good common sense. Dana , she was so proud of you, and so, I was very glad to meet you during one of the times when you came into the office. She & I always enjoyed talking about the various episodes of Downton Abbey. We would try to guess what would be happening next in the series ! I remember when she applied for SS, she told me to do it, at least a few months ahead, for there was always a delay period for which one had to plan. That was very helpful, indeed, when that time came for me.... nowadays, it would even take a lot longer !!!
I certainly hope that she didn't suffer during these last months.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.... she was really fun to know.
